NPL is the UK National Focal Point for the European member countries of this project, which has been set up to meet the needs of migrants and mobile populations on a Europe-wide basis. The right to health and equity of access to health care is a fundamental human right for everyone. But access to health care, and specifically to new HIV/AIDS treatments, can be restricted for migrants by many factors such as legal and administrative obstacles, socio-economic problems and lack of culturally and linguistically appropriate information and services. Members of the Project are all involved in HIV/AIDS issues on a daily basis, at different levels in their own countries, as policy makers, as care providers and health educators and as members of client groups. 'Aids and Mobility Europe' is focused on the European region, including Central and Eastern Europe. It maintains a network of contact persons in all EU Member States (National Focal Points), which support the project in realizing its aims and objectives.
