African MSM Sexual Health Conference For more information, click here The African MSM Sexual Health Project (also known as the Monya Project ) is an NPL and Newham PCT initiative. This project is an exciting opportunity for service delivery for African men who have sex with men in Newham. Monya in Swahili means strength. African MSM living in London are faced with a number of problems, often including HIV, immigration, education and employment, isolation, fear and hate crime. The project aims to enable African MSM to face up to these challenges which HIV, sexual health and homophobia can present. Facing these issues requires not just the strength of African MSM, but also of their friends, family and loved ones to bring an end to the stigmatisation. Services provided:
Upcoming events: The next meeting of Monya will be on the 27 March 2009, the venue still remains 241, King Street, Hammersmith and the nearest tube station is Ravenscourt Park on the District Line and Hammersmith on Piccadilly. The meeting will start at 6-7pm and refreshment will be served. Transport fare will be refunded on provision of travel receipt. The meeting which comes up every last Friday of every month focuses on various issue concerning the lives of African MSM living in London.
