This is what we're fighting for

This Is What We’re Fighting For (TIWWFF) was the first NAZ concert Sunday 8 September O2 Shepherds Bush Empire. It celebrated the genius of Alvin Ailey, Gil Scott Heron, Mary Boman, Nazir, Freddie Mercury and others. When the HIV/AIDS epidemic swept through our communities, it took with it a generation’s worth of talent – the lives of dancers, musicians and activists were cut short. This concert was primarily about remembering the lasting legacy Black, Brown and minoritised ethnic icons left us with and encouraging those living with HIV to live life to the fullest.

The soulful celebration included performances from Lemar, Shaun Wallace, Fernando Montaño, Vula, Paul Johnson, Bakita KK and Reitta Austin. The event was hosted by MTV funny man KAT - B and presenters included: Suzette Llewellyn, Judith Jacobs, Rita Hirani, Ash Kotak, Ann Mitchell and Dazon Dixon Diallo.
